2. What is collected
When you complete the enquiry form on this site:

If you contact us directly by e-mail, phone or WhatsApp instead, the data you send that way is handled on the same basis.
This site does not collect or request special categories of personal data (health, religion, biometric data and so on).
3. Why it is processed
- To receive, assess and answer your enquiry
- To establish and carry out a commercial relationship in shipbroking and chartering
- To contact you
- To prevent automated and abusive use of the form (the hashed IP only)
Your data is not used for marketing, is not sold, and is not passed to third parties for commercial purposes.
4. Legal basis
Processing rests on KVKK art. 5/2:
- art. 5/2-c — directly related to the formation or performance of a contract, where your enquiry is aimed at a fixture or brokerage engagement.
- art. 5/2-f — the controller’s legitimate interest in answering a commercial enquiry you initiated and in protecting the form from abuse, provided your fundamental rights are not harmed.
- art. 5/2-ç — compliance with a legal obligation, for record-keeping once a commercial relationship exists.
The checkbox on the form confirms that you have read this notice. It is not a separate consent declaration replacing the bases above.
5. How it is collected
Entirely by electronic means, through the enquiry form on this site or by e-mail, phone or WhatsApp, in each case because you sent it.
6. Sharing and transfer
- Hosting provider — the servers this website runs on
- E-mail provider — the mailbox your enquiry is delivered to
- Competent public authorities — only where required by law
Transfer abroad: the hosting and mail infrastructure runs on GoDaddy servers in a data centre in Strasbourg, France. Your personal data is therefore transferred abroad within the meaning of KVKK art. 9.
7. How long it is kept
- If your enquiry does not lead to a commercial relationship, the correspondence is kept for up to 2 years and then deleted.
- If it does, the records are kept for 10 years under art. 82 of the Turkish Commercial Code and 5 years under tax legislation.
- The hashed IP used for rate limiting is deleted automatically after 30 seconds.
8. Cookies
The theme of this site sets no cookies at all and performs no visitor tracking. There is no analytics, advertising or social media tracker in it.
The hosting platform (GoDaddy) does attempt to place its own traffic measurement cookies, named _tccl_visitor, _tccl_visit and _scc_session. They are not necessary for the site to work, and on this hosting plan they cannot be switched off at the server. This site therefore runs a mechanism that prevents those cookies from being written to your browser and clears any that were set earlier; they are not stored on your device.
The measurement script itself still loads from the hosting provider, which means your IP address and browser details technically reach that provider. We have no control over this, and we think visitors should be told.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time without affecting your use of this site.
9. Your rights
Under KVKK art. 11 you may ask the controller to:
- confirm whether your personal data is processed
- provide information about that processing
- explain the purpose and whether the data is used accordingly
- identify any third parties it is transferred to, in Türkiye or abroad
- correct it if incomplete or inaccurate
- erase or destroy it under the conditions in art. 7
- notify third parties of any correction or erasure
- object to a result reached solely by automated analysis that works against you
- compensate damage arising from unlawful processing
10. How to apply
Send your request, with information identifying you, to info@sarosshipping.com. Requests are answered free of charge within 30 days at the latest, in line with the Communiqué on Application Procedures to the Data Controller. A fee set by the Board may apply where the request involves additional cost.
If your request is refused or left unanswered, you may complain to the Personal Data Protection Board within 30 days of learning the answer and in any case within 60 days of your application.
11. Changes
This notice may be updated as the law or the site changes. The current version is always published on this page.
